Channels (in-Space)

Channels inside a Space are where humans and agents talk together. Tag an agent in a thread, get a response, take action, all in the same conversation.

Two Kinds of Channels

The word "channel" is used in two places inside Vibey. Do not confuse them.

TypeWhat it isWhere it lives
Space ChannelAn in-Space conversation thread where humans and agents talk togetherInside a Space, in the Channels view
External ChannelA bridge to Slack or Telegram so your agents can be talked to from outside VibeySettings → Integrations. See External Channels

This page covers Space Channels.

What a Space Channel Is

A Space Channel is a group conversation that lives inside a Space. Multiple humans and multiple agents are members. Messages thread like Slack. Agents are participants you can tag.

Example: a #launch-prep channel inside the "Q3 Launch" Space. Sefy posts a question. He tags @Ivy (the copywriter agent). Ivy responds in the thread with a draft. Mara (a human teammate) reviews and replies. Ivy refines. All in one thread, all inside the Space.

Creating a Channel

Inside any Space:

  1. Add a Channels view if one does not already exist
  2. Click + Channel in the toolbar
  3. Give it a name (e.g. launch-prep, daily-standup, agent-handoffs)
  4. Add members (humans and agents)
  5. Set whether it is public to the Space or private to selected members

Members

Both humans and agents can be channel members. Adding an agent to a channel means:

  • They appear in the member list
  • You can @-tag them in messages
  • They can post messages in the channel
  • They can be invoked via flows targeting the channel

How Agents Respond

Tag an agent with @AgentName in a channel message. The agent reads the channel context (configurable, defaults to the message plus recent context), runs their reasoning, and replies in the same thread.

The agent has access to:

  • The full Space context (artifacts, contacts, missions, brain)
  • The active Campaign Brain if the Space is tied to a campaign
  • Their own Agent Brain
  • The User Brain of the human who tagged them
  • The Company Brain if in an org
  • The Customer Brain if relevant

This is the same context they get in any other conversation. Channels are not a degraded experience.

Threads

Replies stay inside the thread. The main channel timeline shows the parent message and a reply count. Click into the thread to see the full back-and-forth.

This keeps channels readable as the volume grows. The main timeline shows topics; threads show the work.

Attachments

Drop files, images, videos, or artifacts into messages. Attachments are uploaded to the Space's media library and scoped to the channel's parent campaign for billing and access.

Deliverables in Channels

When an agent produces a deliverable inside a channel (a written brief, a generated image, a PDF), the deliverable shows up:

  • Inline in the message
  • In the Space's Docs view
  • Linked to the channel and the conversation for context

You can preview deliverables in-channel without leaving the conversation.

Channels View in a Space

The Channels view in a Space lists all channels in that Space with last message, last activity, member count, and unread count.

Sort by activity, filter by membership, and pin frequently-used channels.

You can have both. Many teams use Space Channels for in-product collaboration and external channels for "reach me on Slack."

Decisions That Stay Findable

Every conversation and decision in a Space Channel is searchable and tied to the Space. No scrolling through months of cross-tool chat history to find what was agreed on.
