Setting Your Strategy
Define your campaign's North Star - what success looks like, how you're getting there, and what's off-limits - so Vibey stays aligned.
The North Star
Every campaign can have a strategy. Your North Star. It tells Vibey what you are trying to achieve, how to get there, and what to avoid. This is the guardrail system that keeps everything aligned, especially when Autopilot is running.
The Four Fields
| Field | What it answers | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Result | What does success look like? | "500 new email subscribers by end of month" |
| Purpose | Why does this campaign exist? | "Build an audience for our upcoming course launch" |
| Strategy | How are we getting there? | "Lead with free educational content, capture leads via a PDF guide, nurture with email sequence" |
| Off-Limits | What will we NOT do? | "No paid ads yet. No cold outreach. Do not use competitor names in content." |
Where to Set Your Strategy
Your strategy lives in Campaign Dashboard → Knowledge tab → Strategy and Directives. To get there:
- Go to the sidebar
- Click the campaign you want to configure
- Go to the Knowledge tab in the campaign dashboard
- Select Strategy and Directives in the left sidebar
- Fill in the four fields: Result, Purpose, Strategy, Off-Limits
The fields auto-save as you type.
Let Vibey Help You Define It
You do not have to write your strategy alone. Open Vibey's chat (from Home or inside a Space tied to this campaign) and ask Vibey to help:
- "Help me define the strategy for this campaign. Here is what I am trying to do: [describe your goal]"
- "What should my Result, Purpose, Strategy, and Off-Limits be for a coaching program launch?"
- "I want to grow my email list to 1,000 subscribers. Help me build the strategy."
Vibey will walk through each field with you, ask clarifying questions, and save the strategy directly into the campaign's Strategy and Directives. You get a better strategy because Vibey asks the right questions, and it is saved automatically without you copying and pasting.
Why It Matters
Enables Full Autopilot
Without a strategy, Vibey can still monitor your missions, unblock stuck work, and retry failures. But it will not create new missions autonomously. A defined strategy is what unlocks full autonomous operation. Vibey can identify what needs to happen next and assign it to the right agents.
Prevents Drift
Every autonomous decision Vibey makes gets checked against your North Star. An agent will not start a project that contradicts your off-limits. A mission will not get created that does not serve your stated purpose.
Better Output From Everyone
Even when you are sending missions manually, your strategy informs how agents plan and execute. A clear strategy means less guessing and more focused work.
Writing Good Strategy
Be Specific
| Instead of this | Write this |
|---|---|
| "Get more leads" | "Capture 500 email subscribers through our free PDF guide funnel" |
| "Create content" | "Publish 3 LinkedIn posts per week based on our course material" |
| "Do not do bad things" | "No paid advertising. No mentions of competitors. No discounts or coupon codes." |
Off-Limits Are Powerful
The Off-Limits field is where most people underinvest. Be explicit about what you DO NOT want:
- Channels you are not using yet
- Messaging approaches that do not fit your brand
- Tactics that are off-brand or premature
- Topics your audience does not care about
The more specific your off-limits, the less likely Vibey is to waste time on work you will reject.
What Happens Without a Strategy
- Autopilot runs in limited mode. Vibey monitors, unblocks, and retries, but will not create new missions
- Missions still work. You can send missions manually, agents execute normally
- No drift protection. Agents work based on the mission brief alone, without strategic context
Setting your strategy takes 5 minutes. It saves hours of misaligned work. Even a rough strategy is better than none. You can refine it as the campaign evolves.
